Product Description

Colored steel coils mainly consist of substrates and coatings. The substrates are usually galvanized steel sheets or galvalume steel sheets. For the coatings, after pre-treating the substrate surface with degreasing, phosphating, etc., one or more layers of organic coatings (such as PE/SMP/HDP/PVDF, etc.) are applied and then baked and cured.

The following is a brief introduction to the four types of coatings.

PE coating: Composed of polyester resin, etc., it has good adhesion and formability, rich colors, low cost, moderate chemical resistance, and a service life of 5 - 10 years.

SMP coating: Silicone - modified polyester coating, with good hardness, wear resistance and heat resistance, good external durability, but limited gloss retention and flexibility, and a service life of 10 - 15 years.

HDP coating: High - durability polyester, with strong ultraviolet resistance and good durability. Its performance is between that of polyester and fluorocarbon, and it has a service life of 10 - 15 years.

PVDF coating: Polyvinylidene fluoride coating, with extraordinary stability and excellent weather resistance. It has limited color options and high cost, but a long service life.

The same is true for colored aluminum coils, except that the core material is changed to aluminum sheets.

Both have the same appearance. However, the density of aluminum coils is low, which is lighter and more corrosion - resistant compared to steel coils. But at the same thickness, the strength of steel coils is higher than that of aluminum coils.
